To Do List
A mile above sea level, spring is finally here. The weather is perfect. As time moves along, we are updating the comic and working on a few other projects. It's always interesting to step back and see what I have in front of me to work on and which of these will ACTUALLY come to fruition:
~Working on Faolian (natch).
~Plushie design for a toy company (not related to Faolian, but related to a major anime franchise).
~Possible slipper design for the same company.
~Mascot/Badge art for NDK.
~Multiple tattoo designs I need to do.
~Multiple commissions I need to do.
~Another possible project involving concept art.
So I have a lot in front of me, I hope they all will be seen through to the end (the ones that are out of my control). I'll keep you guys updated.

Hippo, Tortise and Foxes
My Mom sent me some really cute photos awhile back of a hippo and tortise, and there is an interesting story behind them:
The baby hippopotamus (nicknamed "Owen") survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast, and formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise.
Owen, who weighs about 650 pounds, was swept down Sabaki River into the Indian Ocean, then forced back to shore when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on December 26. Wildlife rangers rescued him, but the hippo was traumatized (having lost it's mother during the tsunami). Fortunately the baby hippo met a tortoise in a Mombassa animal facility, and they established a strong bond.
They swim, eat and sleep together.
The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it would follow its mother.
If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo tries to protect it, as if the tortise were it's biological mother.
Awww.... Aren't animals wonderful? ^_^
On an unrelated note, I drew some interesting foxes the other day! They are tentatively slotted for a specific client's project, but if that doesn't work out I plan to use them for something else more personal because I'm really happy with them *^^*.
Here's a small example:
